Frodo v9
I've released the "real" version 9 of Frodo/Wii. As I said a few days ago, this one has working network support. So go ahead now and play some international karate!

excellent work Simon.

I updated to v9, are you aware of any speed issues?

even @ 110% it runs a little 'lumpy'

keep up the good work.

Carl.

Is it different from earlier versions? Scrolling is never quite smooth in frodo, but that's an upstream issue unfortunately.

I've updated to a newer SDL in v9, which brings the USB keyboard support many people want, and perhaps it caused these problems. At least it messes up sound a bit.

yes, I thought it was to do with the usb support too, I have a keyboard attached and restarted it with it unplugged, alas the speed was the same, bruce lee jumps in slo-mo!

I can only think that the system is looking for the wiimote to display the cursor as well as run the emulator.

could there be a v10 with a usb toggle on/off?

Well, unless the culprit in SDL is found (and I'm not sure it has anything to do with the USB keyboard support), I don't think it can be turned on-off like that. If you'd like to try, I've built a version with the old SDL (no USB keyboard support) here:

http://frodo-wii.googlecode.com/files/frodo-wii-bin-9-old-sdl.tar.gz

It's not tested and contains a few things which will be in the next version, so the network will not be operational etc.

thanks Simon,- if you are releasing another version in due course?

however if its not for a while would I be able to substitute the specific files rather than extracting the lot to the root of my card? (.dol and the other one!) as I am cautious of overwriting the useful data I have already.

ps, how difficult would a atari 7800 emu be?

Carl. (happy Easter)

You just need to replace boot.dol. If you extract all of it, you really only risk replacing your configuration file (loosing whatever key bindings you've changed).

The new version will be some time away, I have a list of things which I'd like to implement there and that will take a while. I don't know anything about Ataris though, but I believe there is some sort of Atari emulator (2600?) for the Wii already?
