New job, UAE v2
Friday was my last day at Ericsson, and on monday I'll start my new job at Net Insight. I've been at Ericsson for 2.5 years at two different sections. All in all, I really enjoyed my time there - especially the last years at IS. Yesterday I went to a party with the Ericsson employees at Ekerö, which was a really good opportunity to say goodbye to everyone (although this was not the original plan for the party!). I'll miss you all!

In less important news, I've also released version 2 of UAE-wii. The changes compared to the first version is mainly usage related - most of the important configuration options are now accessible from the menu, including binding keyboard keys to wiimote buttons.

Usage instructions are at the wiibrew wiki page.

Also less important: I've my new Garmin Forerunner 305 frequently this week, together with the mytourbook application. When I bought the watch, my main motivation was to use it for running, but in fact I've only done that once - all other times have been for bicycling.

Thanks to the ericsson party, I've done a lot of bicycling this week - 94km in mytourbook the last two days. I've spent much of the afternoon today looking at apartments in Stockholm, so today I cycled another 34km (but without the GPS). I'm pretty tired now though!

Might work, but not browseable via the menu in v2. I've committed a fix, but it's untested.

IPF support is a very good thing to have in this emulator.
If you haven't stumbled across it yet here's a good source for some help:
http://www.softpres.org/download

Usb support is a must, since it would allow uae to access a directory on external usb-drive as an amiga harddrive.

I would love to see a nice gui for this emulator too. Like the ones that Tantric is involved in:) *drools*

I haven't tested, but I think IPF support should be in the svn trunk. Harddrive support works so-so currently, and USB support would not help with that unfortunately.

I get a lot of requests for a nicer GUI. And I'm sure that Tantrics GUI is really, really nice but the problem is that it's not SDL, and until it's ported there I won't use it. I also really don't understand why the *looks* of the menu system shoud be so important. The current menu is functional, and I don't think libwiigui would bring any big functional improvements.

Of course, if anyone else contributes a port to libwiigui, I'm fine with that :-)

Both should be possible, but neither will work very well now (and it's also something I haven't tested, so I might be mistaken!)

Unbelievable...I started Wii-Homebrew the first time since 1 month or so. I wanted to play a round C64, but first want to download the updates...while thinking about to write in your blog, that an (working) amiga-emulator would be nice...ts...you were faster :)

Is C64-network-play already working?

Yep, the C64 network is working - there are some connection statistics here:

http://c64-network.game-host.org/~ska/stats.html

Anyway, you can always help GPF with the port of VICE if you want to work on C64 stuff. VICE is in most ways a better emulator than Frodo, so that would absolutely be useful. There are also plenty of things to work on in UAE-wii, so join in there if you like!
